Things you can do to make it easier for us to create memorable results together. If you’re an L & D professional they may be second nature but none the less a good reminder:
Step 1
If the request has come from an individual or line manager help them to be clear about the need and to specify the outcome required measured against organisational goals and KPI’s?
Step 2
If you are working on a corporate project or a major training intervention check that the appropriate in house support and commitment is in place to help make the most of the investment?
Step 3
Consider the best way to achieve the desired development. Is it a course, coaching or is it more appropriately handled by performance management?
Step 4
Tell us what you want to be different as a result of what we do. If you are specifying a set course duration say one day, is this realistically enough time to achieve your stated outcomes? Try asking us to come up with options and the duration of any course, workshop or coaching intervention. We try to be as efficient as possible so who knows we may recommend a shorter programme!
